St Andrew's Church

Follow the route through Greenleighton Farm, traditional hill farm, and then along the edge of the Fontburn Reservoir, owned & managed by Northumbrian Water, before returning across the moor to the SSSI designated Greenleighton quarry.

Pass 8/15 farms that make up the Wallington estate. Follow sections of the abandoned Wannie & Rothbury railway lines that once transported goods, livestock & passengers. Keep an eye out for birds, wildflowers & fungi on this reclaimed landscape.

This gently undulating circular walk takes you through woodland, grassy fields & across two of Wallington's estate farms – Broom House and Prior Hall. Varied terrain with uneven ground which can become muddy in places. Dogs on leads during nesting season.

Take a tranquil walk along the banks of the River Wansbeck, crossing bridges & stepping stones, it's the perfect spot for a stroll. Explore the woods & see what wildlife you can find on this riverside walk. Relatively flat circular with a few inclines.
